Green Guest Speaker – “No Impact Man”: An Evening with Colin Beavan
7:30-9 p.m., Frank G. Pogue Student Center Multipurpose Room A & B.
Author Colin Beavan, in research for his next book, began the No Impact Project
in November 2006. A newly self-proclaimed environmentalist who could no longer
avoid pointing the finger at himself, Colin leaves behind his liberal
complacency with a vow to make as little environmental impact as possible for
one year. No more automated transportation, no more electricity, no more
non-local food, no more material consumption… As an ardent believer in
"sustainability 2.0," Colin talks about sustainability in the most personal
narrative.
Admission is free and open to the public.

“Is it possible to have a good life without wasting so much?”
“How do I say this without sounding like a dick? I get upset when I see things
individually wrapped in plastic.”
